The short version: Cover is a free NFL trivia and prediction game played for fun. There is no real money, no purchases, no prizes and no real betting. "Wagers" and "odds" are play points only. You must be 13 or older to play. We keep only what the game needs to save your progress and run the leaderboard, and we don't sell it.

1. What Cover is

Cover is a free game. You answer daily NFL questions and make predictions on real games to earn points and a Ball Knowledge Score. Points have no cash value and can't be bought, sold, traded or redeemed for anything.

2. Not gambling

Cover is not a sportsbook and does not accept or pay out money. Odds and lines are shown for entertainment and come from public sources; they may be out of date. Nothing on Cover is betting advice. If you choose to bet on sports elsewhere, follow the laws where you live. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER.

3. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old. Please don't create a player name that includes your full real name, contact information, or anything offensive. We may remove names or leaderboard entries that break these rules.

4. Not affiliated

Cover is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NFL, any NFL team, ESPN, DraftKings or any sportsbook. Team names and stats are used only to describe real games. Stats and results come from public sources and may contain errors.

5. What we collect

Your player name and game progress (answers, scores, picks), so the leaderboard works and your progress follows you on the same device.
An anonymous player ID created when you first play. We don't ask for your email, phone number or real name.
Basic, cookie-free visit counts (for example, how many people finished today's game), which don't identify you.
A bot check run by Cloudflare when you first join the leaderboard, to keep automated accounts out.

Your progress is also saved in your own browser's storage. Your player name and scores are public on the leaderboard.

6. Services we use

Cover runs on GitHub Pages (hosting), Supabase (leaderboard database), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot check) and GoatCounter (visit counts). Each handles data under its own privacy policy. We don't sell or rent your information and don't use it for advertising.

7. Deleting your data

To remove your leaderboard entry, open an issue at github.com/colekunz-code/Cover/issues with your player name, and we'll delete it. Clearing your browser's site data removes the copy saved on your device.

8. Changes and contact

We may update the game, these terms or this page. If we make a big change, we'll note it here with a new date. Cover is provided "as is," without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. Questions? Reach us through the GitHub link above.
